Shattered...

Today I spent downstairs on the couch - wanted to do soooo much ... read my Card Making mags for inspiration for Xmas cards, read my anatomy book & study notes, do some Xstitch, actually get a late birthday card done for Sharon ... and what did I do? I've watched 1 movie we had on Sky+ for Donkeys, ordered some scrapbooking stuff for the Advent Calendar at Dani's Forum, cooked the lamb shoulder (well.. prepped it and put it in the oven) and emptied the dishwasher (too much bending over there ... bad Kat!!).

That was about it. Oh ... and I did a lot of browsing. Bad thing really, have to reduce that!! :o

Had planned to pick DH up at his parents but at around 4:30pm I suddenly got a slump ... not sure if that's the anaesthetics still in my body, or if I'd overdone it afterall yesterday ... but I could have fallen asleep on the spot! :o So ... obviously didn't pick DH up.

AP kindly did the veggies for dinner, and DH did the reheating ... right now we're watching "Flash Forward" and I am tired again/still.

In my defense - I didn't sleep well. Somehow my body didn't agree with me and the (for me) small pain niggles when moving around. And DH has a sinusitis coming on, so there was some snoring. And my brain was working some overtime as well...

Hope it's going better tonight ... and I hope to catch up with things tomorrow.

Welcome to the BritBowl XXI house... Day 1

Well... Friday usually doesn't count for the FANS of BritBowl, but the helpers start much earlier. :) We left Edinburgh at 2pm, fully packed car with the BAFL Shop stuff we didn't sell at our home games and a poor Allan being slightly cramped on the single back seat. Weather to start with was ok - so no horrendous rain like last year!!! Had a fairly good drive down the A1 but when we arrived before Newcastle we had the annual problem with the bridge crossing!! Don't know why, but arriving at the bridge at 3:30pm just doesn't work. We were stuck for about 15 mins for no apparent reason!! :( And yes, we had the same problem last year. Once we got past the Angel of the North, the traffic was flowing again. There was a car with a nocked bonnet on the other side with a police car around, so I can only assume it's that "human curiosity/morbidity" that made the traffic slow down. Phew!!! Took me longer than I thought!!! :) Maybe I should leave the crafty bits out ... I am a slow scrapper after all (found that out at the Cyber Crop!!). But have to say I LOVE that LO. Used acetate with stazon white opaque (over photo), snowflake eyelets, snowflake button and snowflake vellum sticker. The prompt today suggested we cut a paper snowflake ... well, I had three attempts and am absolutely rubbish at it!! So I decided I try my luck with a quilled snowflake ... first time ever for me to do a snowflake and you can see the wonky result! LOL.

Still struggling with sleep deprivation from Superbowl on Sunday, but hey … maybe I’ll get finally to sleep BEFORE midnight. And since 11am this morning the “little secret” from the Adamsons is now not a secret anymore. WE ARE PREGNANT WITH TWINS!!!!  The IVF run in December was positive (typical, the one we thought won’t do anything and we’ll have to go down to London to get immune issues checked out), and we had our official 12 week scan today. Both Chip and Chap are doing fine, are moving about, have all limbs and noses and chins and heartbeats. And I’m feeling as if a big rock’s been removed from my shoulders … have been reading too many horror stories about twin pregnancies resulting in just one baby born or even losing both. Think with 5 years IVF in the bag we know far too much about the medical background and are more likely to worry about what COULD go wrong instead of “enjoying the pregnancy”.
