Weekly (umm!!) Me! :) 2010 Week 4

Outside my window… I can see the sun shining. FINALLY!!! :) And the garden needing work soon! :0 I am thinking... I’m going to shuffle about my to-do list for the next couple of days. ;) Enjoy a bit time off with a couple of household chores peppered in. I am thankful for... the fact that my sinusitis seems to be on the way out… and that I did pass my exam and am now hold my Diploma in Sports Therapy! From the kitchen... the smell of re-heated (and devoured) haggis is still lingering, and I can hear the dishwasher doing its work. :)    I am wearing... jogging bottoms and a Wolves t-shirt. Just ready for the gym, whenever I plan on going (most likely some time between 6 and 9 ;) ) I am remembering... last week Tuesday & Wednesday I was all in tatters, my nerves all over the place and my head empty of anything I learned about Anatomy/Physiology and Therapy treatments! Is that really just one week ago??? I am creating... nothing yet. But I have plans to fina

And...here we go! 1. Wouldn't it be easy to just ignore the ironing all day? 2. Wolves are back - better than ever! 3. I love the taste of maple walnut ice cream . 4. Looks like a bomb exploded in the living room. 5. The first thing we're going to do is have a cuppa and make a plan . 6. Constant drip, drip, drip; But Sunshine today . 7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to going to the gym , tomorrow my plans include Fi’s Hen Night (dinner only) and Sunday, I want to have a sunny training day !

Missing....

MISSING: 1 Scrapbooking Mojo LAST SEEN: Very long time ago RANSOM: No calls for ransom have been received so far If anyone finds it, please return it to its rightful owner (i.e. me). Come to think of it .... its siblings CARD MAKING MOJO, CROSS STITCHING MOJO and KNITTING MOJO have been absent for a long time too ... and the little brother QUILTING BROTHER was last seen yesterday but has no knowledge of his siblings whereabouts!

Still feeling “yucky”

Sinusitis is at the stage of  “Every fibre of the body hurts”. Hope that means it quickly on its way out.  Staying at home today, but am up and about and am trying to get stuff done … So … Portuguese Pork - simmering in the slow cooker the washing up – done Wolves D tops – 1/2 washed, other 1/2 in machine now DH’s work lunches - partly prepared I’m going to have a very late lunch and a cuppa now… ;)

What have I done so far today?

Image
Feels like not much ... but then... I didn't get up until 11:30am. ;) Currently the 3rd load of Wolves wash is in (yep ... we're back to that again!! ;) ), 2 loads of jerseys currently trying on the racks. Oh ... and I finished DH's quilt... the binding...just in time for Superbowl on the 7th. :) I am still no good with it, even WITH the ironing binding instead of sewing. The back is wonky ... the front looks a bit off as I had to pull more of the binding to the back (lesson learned - use more width for binding next time!!!). And it looks smaller (width-wise) than I'd thought. :o BIIIIG SORRY, DOUG!!! But I hope (and know) you'll enjoy the quilt no matter what!! :) Weekly appointment at 4:30pm, then making the "Haggis, Neeps & Tatties" soup a la New Covent Garden Food Co , "Soup for all Seasons" . We LOVE it! :) And after proper Haggis, Neeps & Tatties at St. Andrew's Day, we tend to have the soup version on Burn's

And here it is …

fresh through the door!! :) Wahey!! :) Currently thinking about a 2nd cuppa … been up until 4am this morning, watching the New Orleans Saints beat the Minnesota Vikings in overtime. :o  Either team would have been fine with me really, but I am kinda glad the Saints made it (never been to the Superbowl and after Hurricane Katrina etc … well). :) Superbowl XLIV will be played at Dolphins Stadium in Miami … and the finalists are: INDIANAPOLIS COLTS  v NEW ORLEANS SAINTS And we’re happy that it’s not the New York Jets … DH cannae stand them! ;)

Stress is gone ....

5 weeks of tense studying and panic of failing the exam had my body in overdrive and defenses were all up. But now, that I have PASSED!!!! My body is against me ... sinusitis is full blown now, sore throat too ... no headache (bar the facial pain from sinusitis) at least. So ... service will resume shortly ... ;) I hope to have a duvet-ish day tomorrow and then it's hopefully back to normal. Oh... one thing... I made "Matjessalat" today for dinner ... my German readers will most likely know this dish or at least have heard of it. It's basically salty Herring - but because I wasn't able to get them I used "Rollmops" (which is the rolled up pickled herring), which actually worked great, according to DH. Add to that sliced onions, sliced sour apples (I used Granny Smith), Juniper Berries and then a sauce made of Mayo, Sour Cream, Lemon juice, Oil and a bit of single cream ... and that's Matjessalat - and you eat it with boiled potatoes ;) My Muts

On the 20th Day of the year 2010 ....

I gained my Diploma in Sports Therapy!!! YAY! More info tomorrow ... I am totally knackered, got a stinking headache and my back's killing me (was tense all day and that's what you get). Did a "borderline pass" ... but who the heck cares??? I PASSED!!!!!!  Phew!!! :) (and that was on a joint that I haven't really done lots of studying about and NEVER have been presented with an injury by any players so far ... so ... if I would have picked the envelope with the Knee, Ankle or Shoulder - I would have passed with flying colours, don't you think???? ;) ).

I LIKE this show!! :)

Image
So does hubby … and of course … them doing a cover on Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” is always a clincher … and the cover was GOOD!! ;) I’m talking about GLEE … anyone else liking/loving it?? And the cover of “Take a bow” … another good one!! :) Ok… catching up with today’s episode now… ;)

Can't wait for all this to be over!!

Image
The usual... I want the exam to be over with. And hopefully with a good result. Right now I am looking forward to doing some tidying (would you believe!!) and some gym work out (again... weird, eh?). And some crafting. Kinda missing that. And I know I'll be reading my books, medical notes/websites etc ... it's just the EXAM ... and the thought of an EXAMINER!! Don't have a problem with actually doing the work on our players so far, but that's a different thing, isn't it??? Doesn't help that my body is against me ... keeping me awake with starting to revising after midnight when I want to sleep (brain's somehow going into overdrive!!), having headaches/migraines and cramps. JOY!!! Now I just have to figure out how I'm going to Glasgow on Wednesday ... and hope for the best! Still revising tonight and tomorrow after work (will go in early so I'm home for 4:30pm or so and do some practical on my 2 "models". ;)

I’m still here…

just currently studying … and being back at work doesn’t give me that much time to do that, so it’s highest priority. Once the Exam is over (and I hopefully GET my diploma … although my nerves are kicking in already!) I’ll be catching up with taking photos and blogging and crafting!! So … don’t abandon me just yet – I should be back next week this time. :)

We’re doing our bit…

Despite all the rivalries between the Scottish Teams we’ve banded together and put through a lot of PR to help out finding referees/team judges for American Football Teams in Scotland .  We currently have 1.5 crews (A crew is a minimum of 5 refs  right now I *think* – might be 4). So that’s saying a lot! AND our refs are covering North of England games, too – in return we have a couple of English Refs coming up to our games, so no hard feelings there. Anyway… we’ve done a lot, been in papers, online papers, on the radio and even on STV!! :) The photo used in the printed media is mine… :) And I am proud of it! It’s at BritBowl (the national finals) at Keepmoat Stadium (Doncaster) of the Division 1 final between the East Kilbride Pirates and the London Cobras . (taken from the Stats booth – highest point in the stands – with my 70-300mm lens). “Scots seek new Gridiron referees” (BBC Sport online) STV news at Six (North Edition) – (see from 22:50) The teams involv

Stumbled over this little song last month...

Yeah... not sure how long it's out but I just found it ... huh! Like it though. And now I'm going to read a couple of pages in my book (still reading "Ice Limit" and have about 6 new books waiting to be read - that's apart from all those anatomy and physiology books that seem to pile up downstairs right now!!!) before switching off the light. Tomorrow is my first day in the new department in my old work ... not sure if I actually posted an update on my working situation after end of November??? Anyway... back to the same company, different department, similar work, just this time pension admin for company pensions instead of personal pensions. Looks like I am going to be in the same team as one or two of my other friends, so that will be at least not too bad. Working 3 days per week though instead of just 2 ... Tuesdays - Thursdays ... means I have to put more time into the days off with studying... BIG DAY IS ON 20 JANUARY!!!!!!

Movies I want to see in 2010

Ok …let’s see what the internet is giving me (and that’s just by the trailers seen in the cinema and reading the quick synopsis – so might end up with more/less): Daybreakers It’s Complicated January The Book of Eli (missed in Cinema - DVD?) Up in the Air (?) All About Steve (?) The Boys are back (?) Brothers (?) The Edge of Darkness (?) Astro Boy The Princess & the Frog (?) Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief February/March The Wolfman February The Lovely Bones (?) Black Death (?) Legion Season of the Witch Clash of the Titans (?) Today I was partly studying…

yeah… really!!! :) Mainly physiology with a bit anatomy sprinkled in. Managed 4 hours, after I woke with a light migraine and spent time until 2pm to “diffuse” the headache (and it worked!). Not sure the stuff is stuck in my brain yet (Physiology is so much harder to understand than anatomy! :o ) but repetition will help … and I am planning on studying 6 hours tomorrow and Monday. Currently taking a bit of PC/TV time and then am hoping that I will get some scrapping done … really want to finish the JYC this time so I can start a totally new one in December. :) Oh … I nearly managed to finish DH’s last present … my time was cut short before Xmas because of the constant driving around of the brown chair … :o So … he got it as a Hogmanay present … my only quilt in 2009…  And as you can see, I HATE binding … think I’ll just get some of the tacky tape stuff to finish it off… ;) DH is a Miami Dolphins fan, and I bought the fabric about 2 years ago. The backing is nice fleecy fa
